Natalie & Eric Say I Do | Myers Park Country Club Wedding

I’ve slacked on blogging for al little while now, because well frankly, life & business get busy! But, I’m back and super excited to share this AMAZING wedding with you. Starting with the details, they were just divine. Natalie put so much thought into each and every detail of her wedding day.

Some pieces were borrowed, some blue and other new but each very personal to Natalie and her family. The bridal party got ready at the Myers Park Country Club and it had both beautiful natural light and gorgeous deep tones.

This dress was so simple and yet so very elegant. I could not WAIT to see Natalie in it. & boy it was worth the wait!!

I love creating a private moment between mother & daughter when it comes time to put the dress on. The day can go by so fast and be so loud and hectic. Stealing a quiet moment alone to relish in the big decisions and joyous moments together is so very important.

The boys…oh man, the boys! They were SO much fun! Natalie gifted Eric a custom engraved bottle and the boys loved it. The wedding day is a time to be supported by those that love and support you & Eric’s tribe is STRONG!

Natalie is grateful that she has two importantt male role models in her life, her father and her step father. They were both so present and had very important roles in her life and big day.

I truly believe that a wedding day is just as much about the groom as it is the bride. I love to steal the groom away for a few minutes to document his important details, his watch, his new hardware and even his cologne.

You all know, brides are definitely my favorite thing to capture on a wedding day, next to couples portraits! Natalie is such a fun and happy spirit. She was an absolute beauty on her big day!

Natalie & Eric’s ceremony was at Myers Park United Methodist Church. Even though we ere banished to the choir loft, the views were amazing!

The views outside the church were to die for and it was the perfect backdrop for family formals and wedding party portraits!

The perfect ceremony was followed by the perfect weather for couple’s portraits. A little cuddling & a lot of kissing on the front steps of the church before heading back over to the country club.

The reception details surely did NOT disappoint. The florals were amazing and the uplighting was divine.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house during Natalie & Eric’s first dance.

Afterwards, Natalie shared her Father & Daughter dance between the most important men in her life.

Blog 16.jpg

& Eric tore up the dance floor with his sweet mom.

Natalie’s aunt was her MOH & killed it with her toast. There was lots of love & stories to be shared by the BM, and the couple’s parents.

I’m a super picky eater so I only usually eat a little bit of dinner but dessert, man, I’m always there for that! This cake was absolutely gorgeous and tasted just as good as it looked!

Annie & Jordan | Charleston Engagement | Sunflower Engagement

We talked with Annie & Jordan several times before their engagement session. We first met them over email then again at the Bridal Showcase. They officially booked us (yay!) and we had a consultation to talk about their ideal engagement session. Jordan had an epic proposal in Charleston complete with a celebration with their families afterwards. So they asked if I travelled and if I would be up for a Charleston engagement session…yes & yes!!

Annie 12.jpg

We planned the session around everyone’s work schedules & Annie’s parents even flew in to be a part of it. However, we had just one night to make it happen and weather was NOT on our side. It started with a little wind then a torrential downpour. Annie had her hair and makeup done and we were determined to make the best of it.

It was honestly so fun out running the storm, racing around Charleston, all while being chauffered by Annie’s parents. I was so impressed by Jordan & Annie’s positive vibes and awesome attitudes as we went with the flow.

Most brides would be super stressed and would have let it ruin the day but instead these two beautiful people embraced the storm and danced in the rain, quite literally at the end of the night. I’m so glad we went with it and just changed up our planned locations just a little bit. We were able to get some great shots in the city that meant so much to them.

Since the weather was bad and we shot this session in about 30 minutes, Annie didn’t have a chance to change her outfit. She bought the cutest little dress from Lily that she wanted to rock so I told her we would make it happen back in Charlotte.

It happened to be sunflower season, one of my favorite times of the year! So just a few days later we schedule a sunrise, yes so very early in July, session to finish up their engagement pictures! Not only were they troopers in the rain, they were troopers being ready by sunrise too.

Annie’s dress was PERFECT for the sunflowers. There was not a soul in sight and we had the place all to ourselves.

It was an amazing sunrise and I got to spend the morning getting to know this couple a little bit better.

Jordan & Annie are so much fun and I cannot wait to see them on their big day, which happens to be very very soon.

Have you ever seen Married at First Sight, the Charlotte edition? Fun fact, the wedding venue that the couples get married in on the show, it’s Jordan and Annie’s venue too! Alexander Homestead is also my favorite barn venue in Charlotte so make sure to tune into the ‘gram for some behind the scenes fun from their big day.

Irina & Matt Say I Do | Alexander Homestead Wedding

Alexander Homestead is one of my favorite Barn wedding venues in the Charlotte area. The venue has it all! It has an adorable house to get ready in, a beautiful outdoor ceremony spot with a gazebo, plus a fun barn that opens up to the yard for lawn games at nighttime. What more could you want in a venue? Oh, and I heard it was featured on Married at First Sight!

Irina & Matt’s big day was filled with love, excitement and so much laughter. Scroll through, leave them some love and peep that super fun bubble exit!

Brittany & Michael Say I Do | Founders Hall Wedding

Brittany decided to start her morning at the Omni hotel in uptown Charlotte. The Omni has large, gorgeous suites with tons of natural light, which make this photographer very happy! The talented Lindsey with Lovely By Lindsey did the bridal hair and makeup. While makeup was finishing up, I documented all of the details for the wedding day.

Brittany not only made such a beautiful bride but she was very easy going and joyful on her wedding day which made photographing her a breeze. Brittany’s gorgeous dress was purchased at J Major’s Bridal Boutique.

I love to sneak in a quick first look with a bride and her dad before heading over to the venue. It’s a special quiet moment for just the two of them before the chaos of the day continues.

Brittany and Michael got married at St. Gabriel’s Church. I grew up Catholic so I always appreciate a good full mass wedding. It was the first time the groom saw the bride and made for special portraits.

Blog 7.jpg

Once they were officially married we rounded up the crew and headed outside for some amazing wedding party portraits. The wind was blowing and the weather was perfect on this October day.

After portraits with the family and wedding party, it was time for Brittany and Michael to enjoy being together as husband and wife for the first time alone. We may have been there to direct them and capture the moments.

Those flowers were absolutely stunning and were provided by Sweet T Flowers.

After portraits in the park, we jumped back on the trolley and headed off to Founders Hall for a fun filled reception. The decor, florals and cake were all so stunning and perfectly Fall!

The couple was even able to join their guests for a few minutes of their cocktail hour.
